A client based in the agricultural, technology and engineering sector is requiring a CFO to join their organisation on an initial three to six month contract with the possibility of the role becoming permanent thereafter.


Position Overview:

Reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for the overall strategic financial management and accountability, program and project management, change and governance leadership and effective deployment and utilization of the organization’s resources to achieve the shareholder mandate.


Main Purpose:

  • Develop, implement and monitor the entity’s financial plan (budget) to achieve the company’s business objectives
  • Prepare multi-year revenue and expenditure forecasts
  • Ensure alignment of budget to Company’s Business Plan
  • Provide inputs to the development and approval of a financial strategy that supports the business plan
  • Transforming the business into a sustainable growing commercial enterprise
  • Developing and recommending to the Board of Directors yearly business strategies that support the company‘s long- term strategy
  • Oversee the implementation of annual budget and in-year financial reporting
  • Development and implementation of Company’s Asset Register
  • Responsible for the compilation of Company’s Annual Financial Statements
  • Coordinate the development of budget and financial policies
  • Coordinate external audit processes and reporting
  • Ensure that the Company develops and implements effective revenue collection system and expenditure system Regulate and maintain cash flow projects
  • Ensure the short, medium and long term financial viability of operations
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of the Company’s accounts
  • Lead and direct the development of the financial risk profile and register
  • Able to analyse the budgets and expand the company
  • Must be able to monitor the performance and report accurately

 

Critical job requirements Qualification(s):

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
  • A Master’s degree preferably an MBA/MBL will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of five years’ experience at senior management level
  • Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance processes
  • Demonstrate a track record of leading an organization through successful growth
  • A high level financial analysis and business acumen
  • A highly ethical individual who has demonstrable ability to consistently act with integrity and honesty
